As a Woman, Love Yourself

It’s no secret that women go through a lot, every day, in every part of the world. It’s not just a South African reality; it’s a global one. Women are abused. Women are abandoned to raise children alone. Women face heartbreak, disappointment, and pressure to be strong even when they are breaking inside.

I AM GIFT

In a forgotten corner of Malawi, where red earth cracks beneath an unforgiving sun and dreams are buried before they can bloom, one girl’s mistake becomes a legacy that refuses to stay silent.

Set in the 1970s in the rural village of Makalani, the story begins with sixteen-year-old Thokozani, a spirited girl weighed down by poverty, grief, and a fragile relationship with her widowed mother. When an unplanned pregnancy shatters her already fragile world, Thokozani is pushed into silence and isolation. Her cries for help go unheard. Her closest friend turns away. The boy she loves abandons her.

Cornered by judgment and despair, Thokozani makes a final, devastating decision that shakes the village to its core and shapes generations to come.
